Gifts of Stocks and Securities

Give a Gift that Grows

Transforming lives starts with a gift. By donating stocks or securities to Waypoint you're supporting vital mental health and addiction treatments, research and care. Your contribution makes a difference today and also creates lasting change for the future.

Why Donate Stocks or Securities?

  • Maximize Your Impact: Donating appreciated securities to Waypoint allows you to reduce capital gains tax and maximize the value of your gift.

  • Tax Advantages: You can eliminate capital gains tax entirely when you donate your appreciated securities or mutual funds directly to Waypoint, maximizing the impact of your donation.

  • Reduced Brokerage Fees: Many brokerage houses waive fees for charitable transactions, ensuring more of your donation goes directly to supporting mental health and addiction discovery and care.

  • Simple and Convenient: Transferring securities is straightforward. Just fill out the transfer form and provide it to your broker. They will handle the transfer of shares from your account to Waypoint's brokerage account. The date of your donation will be the date the securities are deposited into our brokerage account.

  • Recognition: Your generosity can be recognized during your lifetime, acknowledging your commitment to improving mental health and addiction services in our community.

How to Donate

1. Contact Us: Reach out to Cindy Ball at cball@waypointcentre.ca to discuss your donation or with questions about the transfer form.

2. Transfer Securities: Complete the transfer form and provide it to your broker. They will handle the transfer of securities to Waypoint's brokerage account.
